Personality:
He’s aloof and uncaring to most, not wanting to dabble in society. It’s an inside joke of his; he spends his years studying human nature and mistakes through historical events, yet he won’t step two feet out his door to experience it. He’s more at home with animals, especially cats, and has a tendency of acting like a moron when out in public. Laurentius also dabbles in puns and stupid jokes related to obscure events that are pre-First Human War and during it.
Background:
Laurentius was born to two scholars, his mother studying ancient, pre-Great War civilizations, and his father studying Great War tactics and battles. The two met during a luncheon discussing the ethics of war tactics, having sat together after their colleagues left them. Lynne and Ryan hit it off immediately, and three years later they married. Two years after that, they had Laurentius. He had a decent childhood, probably better off than most. As soon as they could, his parents enrolled him into the best school money could buy. It was rather taxing, and they both had to work excessively to pay off the funds, but they believed it was worth it. Laurentius, however, didn’t exactly grow up to be their perfect son. He was smart, almost unbelievably so, but he was awkward and easily scared. Bullies targeted him often and harshly, barraging him with insults and physical violence. By the time he was in fifth grade, his parents decided enough was enough, and withdrew him from the school. They moved away from the area and enrolled him in another school, parting him with the advice “Don’t let anyone pick on you.”
Laurentius ended up earning himself some friends of the same level of nerdiness and unsociability, and the group defended each other up until graduation. At that point, he decided to go into the same field as his parents. However, a documentary describing times of the First Human World War captured him, and he changed his mind immediately. His parents, while slightly disappointed they wouldn’t be able to impart much wisdom on him, were still ecstatic he decided to go with a history field. In all honesty, they were worried he would go into a programming field, as Laurentius described some of the codes he made with relish oftentimes at the dinner table.
College went by without much hassle. He graduated from the university summa cum laude, and decided to take a two-year break. As of now, he is a year into his master’s degree, and he is aiming to get a doctoral degree.
RP Example:
Laurentius popped his head outside his house’s door. The weather, frankly, was absolute shit. Overcast, cold, and from the looks of it, about to send a storm of Biblical proportions. “Better get that ark ready, Noah!” he chuckled, vaguely recalling the verses in Genesis describing Noah’s adventure. With little difficulty, he slammed the door shut, scaring his cat that hung around near the entrance. “Best watch out, Bjorn!” he chuckled yet again, before scooping him up and snuggling his face. The lovely Maine Coon had been a gift from his parents just as he graduated. Most others would think they were crazy, getting a pet instead of money. But, Laurentius didn’t mind as cats were his favorite animals. Besides, he got money too, so what the hell.
The teakettle shrieked just as the young man walked into the kitchen. “Perfect!” He got out his cheap porcelain cups and his favorite Earl Grey tea and got to work. After about ten minutes or so, he was curled up in his cheap chair reading a cheap book. Perfect way to spend a rainy day.

This loser is bisexual and leaning more towards males, but secretly so. Not that anyone would care, but he still deems it necessary to keep it hush-hush.
